Our Story

Welcome to the Dhamma Centre, a place where ancient wisdom meets modern life. We were established in 2019 in Colchester, Essex with a mission to share the teachings of The Buddha and promote the practice of mindfulness to people from all walks of life. Our goal is to help individuals improve their mental wellbeing and find balance in their lives.

At our centre, we offer a variety of courses for people of all levels. From introductory classes to advanced courses, we delve into the traditional Buddhist canonical scriptures and the higher teachings of Abhidhamma, which focus on Buddhist psychology.

We also place a strong emphasis on guiding the young generation along the right path. To this end, we regularly host dhamma classes, workshops, and forums for children, young adults, and young professionals to empower them with the skills they need to navigate today's fast-paced society.
